I called yesterday to my dealer to find out what he knows regarding my R's arrival, since I noticed that my vessel reached its port in Baltimore, MD, yesterday. He told me I should have the car by the end of the month. I asked why so long since it just got into the Baltimore port, and he had NO idea of its location. How do I know more than the dealer does? I am slightly uneasy about this because I thought a dealer should be calling YOU updating YOU on the car's status.

Because he did not want to be bothered with the call so he just told you something without looking into it... kind of like dealing with a person at the DMV. Honestly you shouldn't be surprised.

Think at least 5-10 days to clear customs, plus an additional 5-7 days to catch a ride and arrive to your dealer. Your dealer is just on the pessimistic side.

Pessimistic?

How about an adjective that starts with a "C" end ends with ...less?

Re: (phuz)

Glad I wasn't you dealer

Actually.......you ARE correct in that he/she should have at least stayed in contact with you and given you an ETA.....Not condoning the handling of the situation...but as a matter of information....the dealer is a little "out of the loop" once the vehicle reaches the port. Other than knowing when it is scheduled to load on a truck....we have no way to confirm it's daily status as to "where it is" in the system.
That being said....you should have been informed better as to the timing of final delivery.
