This might not be the forum for this, but I have read of an upgrade on this forum. A friend of mine that works at the dealership told me he was told by a Volvo tech there that the new T6 has a HP upgrade to 407 with a Polestar tune. It costs $1600 but each dealership can give one away as a way to introduce it to the public. 407 hp - anyone hear of this?

The tune upgrade is for 325hp, at least the one that they are currently selling. There is some talk of a future super wild Polestar R with 400+ hp but currently its still a pipe-dream.

Yea that seems like to much HP for just a tune.

Why? It doesn't seem unrealistic. Maybe a *little* high but an increase of 80 horse is really not that big of an increase. You guys have to keep in mind an in-line 6 can make power much easier than an in-line 5. Tuning does wonders....

That maybe true but I haven't seen nor heard of Polestar offering such a tune.

That does seem high for just a tune, I would imagine there's things that would have to be upgraded at the same time, ie injectors, fuel pump to say the least. That's how it was with my eclipse

So, to answer the OP, no, none of us have heard about that upgrade for the NORMAL S60 or S60 R-DESIGN. That is, none of us care since it's not for a REAL R.

Go find out if it's true, and if it is, enjoy one hell of a fast car. Also, 80HP from a tune isn't at all unrealistic based on how ridiculously conservative the T6 engine is.

For example, a bone stock 1.8T Jetta can get 64hp from a tune with no supporting mods
