Hey, Rear Wheel Paul III

I used to have a Bosch Injection manual around here someplace, but I'd like you to answer a question if you can.
On IPD Lucky's 242 buildup, he showed a diagram of the CIS assembly and a screw labeled number five, at the exact opposite of the venturi, the diagramme (English spelling) it shows a screw called the 'balance weight screw' that looks like it's accessible from the outside of the assembly.
Don't get me wrong... I'm a tinkerer, but I learned a long time ago not to bollox up something that I don't know 100% about. An engineering degree can lead to a lot of grief!
Do you happen to know what that screw does, and is it one of those things that is "set for life", or is it something that can be toyed with for performance / mileage or something else?

Also, there is a roller bearing that bears down on the "link" that is just to the rear of the adjustment screw for CO adjustment. Does that little roller ever get mucked up or worn out to the point where it requires the replacement of the fuel distributor?
I'm sure that it does, over time... but my old Volvo turbo has only about (less than) 140K (miles, not kilometers) on the clock.
I've never even thought about it, but maybe the next time that I take that big rubber/plastic thing off the top of the fuel distributor, maybe I should spray some cleaner back there.

What's your opinion?

By the by... I have my feelers out all over the place for a used copy of your Volvo Performance Manual... in any condition, actually. As long as it's readable.

As an aside, may I ad one thing. Your advise is pretty darned good. There used to be a guy. years ago, who used to post to the usenet group, alt.autos.volvo, who was a tech with a Volvo dealer and he really knew his stuff. Unfortunately, he was driven off by some arm-chair "experts" who knew everything about Arco Graphite, etc. A real shame. This was about ten years ago, and it's a shame that he's not here.

Anywho... thanks for your time and brain power.

Yours, Jim in Las Vegas. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

As I expected... no response. How about a question on waxing my leather?

RWP is away for a while.

Direct your question to GresianVolvo. Or maybe Georg can give you a link.

I suspect that right now Paul is off the coast of Somalia chasing pirates. I don't doubt that he'll be back in a few weeks.
