My child has outgrown the infant car seat. Looking for recommendations on 'convertible' seats that will fit in the S40 (they are in the rear facing position from 20-30 lbs, then you turn it to forward facing until they reach 40lbs or so)

I bought a 3-1 Safety 1st and took it back. It wouldn't recline properly, couldn't get it tight enough with the latch belts, couldn't see him in the mirror, etc.

I've read consumer reports ratings availalbe for free online. Then I look at 'customer-reviews' at target.com, kidsrus.com, etc and it seems people either love the seats or hate them.

Any recommendations of car seats you've actually used in your S40 would be appreciated.

we have the Britax marathon in our Toyota 4 runner, and a Triumph DLX Convertible in the S40.

Love both of them.

The Britax is bigger than the Triumph, but both work equally as well, and are both highly rated for safety.

the Triumph was 1/2 the price of the Britax.

Re: (Spitfire)

I second the Britax marathon. It is taller than most seats since kids up to 65 lbs. can sit back there, normally seats only go to 40 lbs. You will need to remove the headrest, but no biggie. It's the biggest, best, safest and most expensive.
