I have a Volvo V70 1999 with 92000 KM and have been experiencing a weird problem. Sometimes for no apparent reason my car won't start but what is weird is that the car starts when I turn the key but when the key fall into its running position the car shut's off, it's as if the gas is cut off. I went to the garage and they changed my throttle control (732$ CAN) which helped my idle but did nothing for this problem. Anyways I would really appreciate any help.

Re: Help : Weird Problem (2700)

hmm. could it be the ignition key cylinder/tumbler? maybe it has some wear. Is the key itself in good condition?

Could it be related the security system? My 2000 Audi S4 had an issue with its security system and it would intermittently not allow the car to start-- it thought it was getting stolen and shut everything down. The problem was traced to a bad connector in the wiring harness.

that's my .02 cents. good luck, these types of problems can be difficult to track down.
