I've been searching but I cant seem to find a "how-to" on rear light removal. I want to remove these ASAP so I can wash them with the VHT Nighshades.

easyyyyyyyy... did mine last week when i tinted my tail lights

remove the cover for the tail lights
unplug the light bulbs
get a size 8 or size 10 (cant remember) socket with with a 1/4 inch rachet
and unscrew 3 nuts on the corners. keep your hand on the tail light so it doesnt fall out.
you should be good to go.
and remember, when you wash your tail lights, get all the water out, your gonna look like a civic if you leave water in them lol
when you pop your trunk...
lets say you want the right side out first for example
there is a cover. you squeze it and it comes right off
unplug the bracket for the light bulbs
and if you get a flash light, you'll see 3 small nuts hold the tail light on.
take the right sized socket and loosen them just a little but where its loose enough so you can take it out by hand.
just hold the tail light, then once all 3 nuts are off, you can just slide the tail light right out.
any other way is wrong and wont work.
you got it done yet?

out of all of the things to do to the volvo, this was the easiest.. lol...

just look inside behind the cover in the trunk, you'll see 3 nuts. they are on screws bolted onto the tail light, and the cars metal is between them...

take your time.

i'd take mine out and post pics of how to.. but i already started my 2 - tone.
Success! Finally, so on top of today being my last day of high school EVER im ready to smoke my tails. I was thinking of just smoking the white part a little so it matches my grey car and maybe a lighter coat on the red. I could still go all black. what do you guys think?
