I have given some thought to purchasing a new cold air intake and an exaust system. Im looking for something that will improve performance without being too loud- I find many exaust systems to be pretty annoying after a while. Any advice or pictures would be huge. thanks in advance!<br>Brian<p>98 HPT if that matters<BR><BR>

Re: Help needed choosing performance Intake/Exaust systems (MJRM2384)

Check out IPD, they are a good resource for performance upgrades that are designed specifically for Volvo and are not too 'in-your-face'<p><A HREF="http://www.ipdusa.com" TARGET="_blank">http://www.ipdusa.com</A>

Re: Help needed choosing performance Intake/Exaust systems (5-speedc70)

Thanks for the reply.. I have checked out IPD and was impressed for the most part. Just wondering if there was another quality system at a lower price -700 seems like a lot... but from what ive heard people are pleased with it. Any idea as to realistic horsepower gains?

IPD claims a gain of 10 HP.... I noticed more of an increase in throttle response than a huge increase in horsepower. For intake I'm just using a K&N high flow filter. <p>The sport exhaust they have at Euro Sport Tuning is a little cheaper ($630), but I haven't heard anything about how it performs. From their discription it sounds very much like the IPD exhaust. Here's a link: <p><A HREF="http://www.eurosporttuning.ca/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=VLE-380-101&Category_Code=VL-C70-en" TARGET="_blank">http://www.eurosporttuning.ca/...70-en</A>

Euro Sport Tuning up in Canada makes a system comparable to IPD's. EST had a sale on the system back in April ($399 vice $658 for IPD) so I bought one for my 98 S70 T5. Very happy with the results. Not loud at all and just the right amount of 'throatyness' under acceleration. I'd contact EST and ask them if their going to have another sale anytime soon.

Re: Help needed choosing performance Intake/Exaust systems (volvdog)

U are waisting your money on an air intake system.....the volvo stock setup is excellent....drop in a K/N panel... but unless your over 300whp aftermarket air intakes net no gain.<br>On a C70, the best exhaust is a Supersprint it fits the oval opening perfect.
