My car is going in for the VIP inspection tomorrow and some fixes while I'm out of town (hopefully fixes if they can 'reproduce' my symptoms )
All my current issues seemed to have started with the first tranny drop for the fluff n buff. At the same time however, they did the rear bushing fix as well.
As soon as I picked the car up it felt as though it pulled left ALL THE TIME. It was aligned for the bushing fix so I had a different shop check the alignment and it was spot on, yet even today it continues to pull left, which is distinctly different than its behavior prior. Second Volvo dealer had the nerve to say it was 'following the crown of the road and it was normal behavior' Funny it didn't do that BEFORE.
Ideas what ELSE could be causing this? Subframe put on crooked?
Second issue has been developing over the last 6 months. When I make a 90 LEFT turn no grind, when I made a 90 RIGHT turn under load (at speed, over hump) I get an AWFUL grinding noise that sounds like metal on metal. It is getting worse as I continue to drive it. I actually find myself making wider right hand turns to subconsciously try to avoid the noise.
On a plus note, I got VIP 6/100k $50 for $2995 which, given my cars service history, should be well worth it.

Re: Help/Advice for service visit-front grind (cschmelz)

No idea on issue #1
As for the grinding noise when making a sharp turn, I would start with the steering stops. This is a known issue for our 04s
Good luck

Dare I mention a potential transmission issue (shhh)
Don't know if it was a grinding I heard per se, but my car has definitely had some issues with the steering. It made this pretty horrendous groan when turning at times...like yours only part way and only to the right. They have replaced the steering rack under warranty...twice. They also replaced the power steering pump and the return line. I think they finally got it this time.

Did it cure your pulling problem?
Also, before you got the big groans....did you have little noises while steering? Sometimes when turning I get these groans mid turn (not from my wife) that I think I can feel through the wheel as much as hear. I don't know if that's just the way the steering is, but it doesn't happen all the time. Hmmm. If you could elaborate on what lead up to your problem, it would be appreciated.
