Is Heico ever going to put out side skirts ? or maybe Lip Spoiler as well ?
I like their front lip a lot and the back isn't that bad either.. their product would be a very good alternative to Evolve.. however.. I would purchase the full Heico kit if only they offered side skirts as well.. it just feels like something is missing without side skirts..
do they plan on making them ?

Re: Heico Side Skirts ?? (al_zoni)

i like the heico kit the way it is. imho it is more elegant and understated than the evolve kit, more complementary to the euro nature of the s40/v50. Just my opinion.

don't change a thing on the kit, heico!

We've discussed these with a bunch of customers (there and here) and have found that people actually prefer the car with painted OE mouldings only.
This is entirely subjective, of course, but the comment we got most was "too aggressive...looks better just painted body color".
I appreciate the sentiment in your post, and some of us within HEICO here and there have argued for this part, but so far customers haven't been all that fired up about the look of side skirts when compared against just painting the side moldings.
We're still discussing it.
I'll come back to you on this if anything changes, but with C70, S80, C30, and face-lift XC90 this year, HEICO's dance card is pretty full.

Re: Heico Side Skirts ?? ([email protected] SPORTIV NA)

thanks for the reply
but just in my opinion.. the car doesn't look as complete without it
I always get the feeling that something is missing.. or I wouldn't know how to match the front and back bumper.. both of which looks great !
In my opinion.. Heico designed products are not that aggressive.. the front and back bumpers are the crutial parts that sets the tone already

The factory skirts are a great inexpensive alternative to add to the Heico pieces.

Revived thread

Reviving this thread...

I am thinking of getting the Heico front/rear lip and as usual, they dun offer the side skirts...

I was thinking to install the Heico, and putty the existing matt sideskirts... but from the pic above (though the side not sprayed yet), it looks a bit awkward...

Anyone have install the Heico front/rear lips and sprayed the existing sides? Does it look okay? Pics will help...

Aletrnatively, I am thinking to get the side from the OEM kit or VIS... or are there better choices?

Thanks!

Have you looked into how expensive just those two pieces will be, If I had to guess you could be easily over 1500 just just the front and rear lip...

I checked with the Heico agent in Singapore, the price is about US$2k including painting/installation.

There is another place selling unpainted for much lesser (not sprayed) but I have to check if they are replicas (not sure if Heico has replicas) and pay for shipment.

The sideskirts I am looking at this to see if it matches:

The VIS reps mentioned that this kit wouldn't fit the S40 in my region, but I am think the sides should...

VIS kit supposedly is just the dynamic trim kit replicated.

Yes, it looks like it... And they say that it may not fit the European/Asian region S40, I have my doubts on what difference can there be on the chassis... but then, if they already stated, no point taking the risk...
The thing is that there is a "latch" on these sideskirts, which the Heico lip doesn't have, and may not look compatible...

If not, I just prime and spray the stock side skirts...

I really want to get a front lip, but I'm personally thinking of of buying the OEM mudflaps and painting those, the skirts, and the back. I really like the look of the mudflaps and buying those and painting them is cheaper than buying a full kit and painting that.

I know this has been brought up before, but what all is going to be involved in painting the OEM black parts? And about how much do you think it would cost? Pics of it already done? I want it to match the body color as close as possible...

I know The Dane has his side skirts painted wih his heico front and rear lip. Looked really good.

From personal experience painting those textured trim pieces kinda sucks. Because I had to reuse my stock lower trim piece over the skirt I had to take a hand sanders to em for awhile till they were smooth for primer. U would need to do that for every piece.

Not a huge deal can just be time consuming and adds to the prep work.

IMO the elevate side skirts would look awesome with the heico or vst front lip.

Yes, I saw the thread from the Dane last evening, his look really fine, and I read he had to spray it, sand it down and spray... A lot of work but lets see how much it costs, will be getting the workshop to quote on that part.... I got a quote from heico distributor, about usd1.3k for the 2 pieces... I reckon may cost around 2.2k with spray, install including the side skirts...and blanking out one of the exhaust slots...

The VIS may just cost around usd1.5k including install... But it is just the normal dynamic kit look...

Vst front lip is costly as well, I haven't checked the prices for that and the elevate side skirts... Let me check out this option.

:)
