Heeeeee's Back!!!

This should cause quite a reaction from the F1 world. Yes gentlemen (and ladies), Michael Schumacher is back!
http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/he...shtml
What are we going to do for a whole month? I swear, Bernie and Max are completely ruining F1.
Anyway, great to know Schumi will put on the overalls for the scuderia, I was hoping that beyond all the media hype wrt him being pushed out, that he was still rosso through and through. He's the man!

It's a shame that Schumi's return is due to such an unfortunate event but in all lieklyhood, Massa wouldn't want anyone other than Michael in his place for multiple reasons.
I have a feeling that fan attendance will be up significantly through the rest of the season.
...meanwhile, if you look closely, you'll notice $ signs in Bernies eyes

Re: Heeeeee's Back!!! (JRL)

I saw this last night walking through the mall. It was on a TV in a kiosk selling some kind of useless crap. Very weird place to get news.
I guess that Willi Weber is 100% wrong then. No, 200% wrong. LOL.
I have very mixed emotions about this. I am excited to see a legend (whatever foibles he might have, he IS a legend beyond a shadow of a doubt) return. I know he has kept close to the team, kept fit and has certainly been driving a bunch….cycles, Ferrari testing, appearance as the Stig.
I’m excited to see what he can do in the current car. It seems to be gaining pace.
I feel bad for Massa in a way, though. Yes, it’s good that he’s being replaced on a temporary basis by someone who will obviously rescind his seat to Massa when Massa is healthy again. No need to worry about losing his place to an upstart.
However, this will inevitably drag out a whole bunch of comparisons of Massa’s driving. You know you’ll get a whole bunch of “well if Schumi was still here, maybe we would have won the championship last year” or “maybe we’d be beating Brawn this year”. Blah blah.
I really hope that doesn’t happen, Massa doesn’t deserve it. But you know how the bullsh*t factory works.
Re: Heeeeee's Back!!! (Needsdecaf)

Honestly, I dont think it will happen. Those that think Massa is unworthy of an F1 drive, will not have their minds changed by seeing Schumi again. Those that think Massa is worthy of the drive won't think anything else becasue Schumi is coming to the rescue while Phil is on the mend.
I think, based on Massa's excellent progress, and the fact that there is little to no eye damage, that Schumi filling in is the best thing that could happen to F1, Ferrari, Massa and Schumi fans. I can't wait. I'm sure the Ferrari doesnt have race-winning pace, and I dont expect him to come out and trounce a field of faster cars. I *do* expect he will do an admirable job filling in, and is a safe bet as the BEST driver on the planet to take over for Massa while he's hurt. Christmas in July, and then August. Unless they screw the pooch and change their minds over the next 4 weeks.

And for Massa’s sake I hope it does. But Schumi isn’t just another retired F1 driver. He’s not even someone like say, Mika Hakkinen. He’s Schumacher. And he’s not that far gone out of the sport, AND he was seemingly pushed out by Ferrari.
Add all that up, stir vigorously, add 4 weeks of nothing going on and voila, instant controversy.
We’ll see how this pans out. I’m intrigued by the whole thing.
I wonder if he would be good running a team……Hmmmm.
IMO I don't think this will happen.
What may happen is that once the season is over, Ferrari may have a hard time prying the steering wheel from his hands.
Seriously, I am quite giddy. Being a Ferrari and Schumi fan I can barely contain myself.

Re: Heeeeee's Back!!! (gdill2)

Here's a direct quote from the man himself...
“Though it is true that the Formula One chapter has long been closed for me, it is also true for team loyalty reasons I cannot ignore the unfortunate situation,” Schumacher said.
Seems his loyalty to team is as great as his love of spouse. She must of given her approval behind closed doors.
So all that stands between Schumacher and his return is a medical check-up on a neck injury sustained during a motorcycle accident in February.
Is 5 to 6 months sufficient time lapse to heal the 40 year old?
PS: don't really know what type of neck injury he sustained.

He is a DIRTY driver, unethical and that's all I need to despise him. Think of his antiques especially vs. Damon Hill in Australia, vs. Jacques Villeneuve at Jerez and, his last hurrah, in qualifying for at Monte Carlo when he "parked" his car in the course while he had the time lead.
It is not uncommon for some great athletes to use dirty tricks to stay atop; Pele comes to mind, if you are a soccer fan.

Maybe a jerk on the track as you say, but not off the track.
And that whole parking thing at Monaco didn't seem like it was intentional.
