Hi All,

My heater fan/heater blower is not functioning and my wrench indicates that I need a new "power pack" that I think I have heard referred to as a "resistor".

Since my angle gear and drive shaft are bad in my 1999 S70 AWD, and am doing serpentine and timing and upper mount too...and my radiator has leak all at once...I wanted to see if I can save a buck or two by doing this myself.

Anybody done it? Know what parts I need and any life's lessons I don't need to learn on my own??

Thanks much!

You should do both the blower motor and the resistor.
When one goes bad it usually damages the other.
Not too bad, drop the lower dash, takes less than an hour.
I'm sure there is a "how to" over on Matthews somewhere

You really just need the two parts

The fan takes 15mins, maybe. remove glovebox insert, you can then remove the two torx holding the lower dash panel.

Personally, I'd plug a used fan into the harness & try it first. 98-00 are all the same, get a fan & resistor from a wreck if you can..
