Hey everyone. I am attempting to remove the A pillar, C pillar, and the headliner. If anyone has any experience with this and has some helpful hints on how to accomplish this I would be super appreciative. I know cicatrizdare has removed his A pillars before so hopefully someone on here has some knowledge about this stuff.
I have started to remove them already but got a little hesitant as I don't want to set off my airbags. Help me out. Diagrams, pics, words, anything.

Re: (S40DaB)

Will unhooking the battery actually prevent the airbags from deploying if I get a little rough with the removal of the pillars?

Mmmm...I'd hate to answer that question one way or the other because I don't honestly know. But I want to say that from everything I have read if you unhook the battery then there isn't a risk of the bags deploying. Don't quote me on this!

What I want to know is what you're planning to do with the headliner

Re: (Moofluffen)

I finally manned up and got one of the A Pillars off. It is too dark to continue tonight. I'll post pics when I am done. I have been waiting for the supplies for awhile, they got here today.

I sent him an IM awhile back but never heard from him. I took it as he didn't want to share his trade secrets and have every one imitate it, lol.

My headliner is coming out to fix a rattle. What you should be asking is why is my trunk, door and floor paneling/carpet coming off...... to be continued.....
Also I am very curious what "Mr. I have the coolest front bumper of everybody" is doing.

Re: (Modernman)

I have it all scoped out, the part I am worried about is the airbags. I disconnected my battery and removed one A pillar, due to the lack of lighting I am holding off until the daytime tomorrow. Did a test run of what I am doing, and I think it turned out great for a first run, but being a perfectionist will probably end up redoing it. I think the V50 headliner is a little easier to remove since it can be taken out of the rear hatch, sometimes I wish I had a V50...

True that...it might have been an email. I just remember typing something to him. He is a super nice guy, so it probably was really just lost in the shuffle. I was mostly joking about him not responding on purpose. I am looking to having him help me with something in the future.

Re: (kpsingh0)

It has a clip on it that needs to be removed in order to take it off completely...besides that it was super easy, just scary for me yanking on the plastic piece covering the airbag. I think I could take some pics of the whole process of removing the headliner so it will be easier for you guys. The way I see it, a lot of us on the forums might have the same or similar mods, but our cars are still so unique compared to the cars that we are around every day. I don't mind sharing to help the forum out. That is what I love about Swedespeed, most on here are supportive and offer constructive criticism, instead of ragging and cussing each other out. guys!

Re: (carreragt7)

Kyle (Forcefed) I want your input here, you have any suggestions or experience, or can ask someone at your dealership for any tips? I have also come across the problem that the driver side mirror has the power chord for the vanity mirror/light go through the headliner, haven't had a real chance to see how to disconnect it. The C pillars look to be quite the pain to take out, the headliner itself looks to be rather simple once you have removed the handles and other obstructions.

I like the progress, but this thing called work (at work right now) gets in the way of all of my projects. It is such a nice day out too...so much easier to work on a car during the day.

Re: (carreragt7)

This is somewhat blasphemous and kind of off topic (well, not as much as you guys might think as it directly relates to my project ), but...the Aston Martin DBS is my favorite car hands down, and this interior reminds me a lot of the S40 interior design, whaddya guys think?

Re: (sanatarium)

Speaking of wheels, I am very interested in finding a set that is as similar as possible to the below wheel, without a similar price tag, these cost $15k I don't care what bolt pattern they are, as I am more than willing to redrill if necessary or donate a kidney for the real things.
