The other day while driving to work, along the freeway at night the headlights turned from on to off for about 2 secs then went off completely. Luckily I had my fog lights on ....a message appeared on the dash globes blown !!!
I had the front window demister on low fan at the time so I turned it off thinking the heat may have caused a problem in the wires behind the dash..
I checked the globes at work all were ok . Turned the car on and everything worked just fine . Has anyone had a similar problem..oh and the message had gone from the screen but I did not erase it..

There is likely, I don't know for sure on the Volvo, a thermal breaker in the wiring to the headlights. The breaker overheats, opens the circuit, then closes again, giving you back your lights. You really don't want a fuze.
I had that with a car on which I upgraded the lighting, but have not seen it on our 05, 2.5 and we've run the low and high beams for hours in 100F + heat.
Jack
