Man, these wipers are crappy. They look cool and all but I am on my 3rd set of wiper arms and they are $20 a pop. They crack and eventially break just below the nozzle on them. Not sure why? Now the motors are weak as kittens and do not have the power to correctly reposition the wiper blades back to there lowered position after use. Sometimes I'll get out the car and notice a wiper blade stuck halfway up the light or the wiper blade (broken) will be dangling from the water line. It bugs me because it looks bad more than anything.

2 new wiper blades on order: $17.15 each (cnd)
2 new motor, headlight wiper: $207.00 each (cnd)

ARRGH!!
Any one else have this problem with wipers?

Actually I usually notice a crack in the wiper blades after winter. Ice builds up on the wiper blade if the car is outside all day(like at work). When I go to use the wipers maybe the ice is sticking it to the light and the plastic is over stressed. This could maybe even weaken the motor over time too I guess.
Well, that's my theory. Thank god it's 38 degrees out today! (38 C, 100 F)

Actually, anyone know of metal wiper blade arm replacments? It seems inevitable that these new ones will break sooner or later. That will make set #4 since '96 when the new ones go.

Hi,

the passenger side wiper on mine actually stopped working altogether (the casing holding the mechanics broke), so i spend £30 on blanking panels from Volvo & removed them (i live in the UK, so i don't no if you can do that legally)

I'm not aware of any law prohibiting removal of headlight wipers, I might consider it if I have anymore problems. Full fix this time round.
Every Canadian 850 has these because of the standard winter package. I bet I could get blank panels from US 850s easy enough. That would also remove a little weight from the motors too.
Thanks for the suggestion
