Joe, Forced5, asked me about making some headlight eyebrows for the R. My father and I spent some time tonight working on it. We used the picture he sent us, along with pics from the realcar website of their plastic brow.
Here is the realcar pic:

Here are 2 pics of the work we did:

We used some black scrap we have sitting around and honestly, we both like the black on silver contrast (once again, ha). Application was a breeze, surprisingly. The top left part is going to need some tweaking, but overall these are almost ready to go.
Joe is going to get a free set to test fit.

You guys are hitting it just right again, Bob. I'd be up for a set when they're done.

I like, but the longer realcar one is a bit better IMO. Shouldnt be hard to make it the full length??

I think Bob is going for a hood integration look (tell me if I'm wrong), whereas the Realcar one trails off into the fender area.

I think it might look corny covering part of the corner lens like that. Also, I believe extending the line of the hood makes it look better than just cutting off the entire top portion of the headlight.
I am sure we can offer BOTH!

Do see the point where it would look better with the ambers gone. Maybe if yours was your car's color?? Then it might not look like anything different than stock.

Re: (bobbrown13)

We just made the 3rd modification and my dad is making the 3rd application right now.
We made the left side thicker for better coverage and added a slit to work better with the contour of the top left part of the light. This 3rd one will be in a color that better matches my car.
I would think that the full, extended version could work in many colors, but the hook line version would only work in a similar body color.

I was literally within minutes of buying the realcar one. Now I will bide my time and follow this thread closely . I agree with the others though and would like to see it extended much like the realcar version. Hell, if you can produce these cheap enough, I'll buy a set of each to see which one I like better !

How about something like this? What do you guys think? It's slightly different than Realcar's..

The easy part is extending it, which we will do for sure.
Right now the inside of the light, the middle of the car, has an edge that is hard to apply vinyl to. We want to make it look as seamless as possible, so it has been challenging getting it just right. The contour in that area is so great that we aren't comfortable pushing them out to customer just yet.

Re: (GiRaff3)

Bob, I rather like the shorter one if done to the color of the car...it makes the headlight appear "stepped" and makes the hood look a bit longer instead of just a flattened headlight.
just my 2 cents.

Re: (T5 for Life)

and what are you going to do about the wiper blade? you can see the realcar one has the wiper removed.
Great idea, is it possible to trim the wiper blade? I havent looked at them for a while.

I personally don't like vinyl eyebrows but it does solve the wiper problem neatly. I know I wouldn't remove my wipers, it's one of the car's biggest asset in the weather we have here.
