Hi, I hope I am not shunned for the following, but I'm actually not a volvo owner. I do have great respect for all volvo products, though, and since I own a ford, we're kin, right?

I had a question about the Volvo 850 though, since a friend of mine owns one. Is it possible to replace the headlight covers without replacing the entire headlight assembly? Do you guys know where to find such weird parts? The ones on this 1993 model are very dingy and yellow and some nice new clear ones would be nice. Thanks for all the help guys.

The best place to find rare and strange parts is on Ebay. I have seen single headlight covers for the 850 series. The 1993 850 had the tall headlights vs. the 1994-1997 850 that had the thinner headlight design. It is going to be a lot harder to find the tall headlight design since that was early in the 850 series production.

As a side note, there is a really cool and rare fog-light kit for the 1993 Volvo 850 on Ebay. It is a bargain IMHO for only $85.00. There were not many 93 850's sold with front fog lights.

i am offended you call yourself kin becuase you own a ford.that makes you someone who doesnt care about driving.volvo has been independent for a very very long time.ford has only owned volvo for about a year SO DONT call yourself KIN just yet!!!it makes my blood boil when i think of future volvos on ford platforms, with ford interior bits, and ford drivetrains.independent volvo brought out vehicles that ford never would have(740 and 240 turbo,850t5,850R,164,122,c70 to name a few).it is absurd that volvo threw in the towel when they were at the highest profit date they had ever seen.AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO HATES THE FACT THAT VOLVOS ARE GOING TO BE DUMBED DOWN TO FORD PARTS?!!!!

I agree with you FREAK, but the fella was just making an introduction. I'm sure the guy cares about driving. Taste in cars is no gauge. Here in Ohio (Uhiah) it is common to be stuck behind an "Ultimate Driving Machine" whose owner is happy to pick his butt in the overtake lane and maintain his/her speed using a frenzied mix of throttle and brake.

InDy's response is more the sort that will keep people comming back. Maybe we'll average more than a couple posts a day in the future.
