Been trying to find Hawk HPS pads for the R. Many online sites don't list an HPS pad for the R, however I have seen many on this Board indicating that they are using Hawk HPS pads. So, I sent a message directly to the source, Hawk, and here is the response that I received - As I am really not interested in "tracing a pad" does anyone know the part number that would fit the front calipers:
Hello Benjamin-
I show a listing of pad shape D1016 (which we don't make) for the front and
HB194.570 (D592) for the rear. If you want to send a tracing of the pad
shape to us, we can verify if we carry the pad or not.
Thanks
Tom Blough
HAWK Performance
Customer Service Manager

(800) 542-0972 Ext 4081
(440) 528-4099 Fax
-----Original Message-----
From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]
Sent: Saturday, August 05, 2006 1:30 PM
To: [email protected]
Subject: Hawk Performance Comments: Volvo S60 R

The following comments were recieved through the hawkperformance.com
website:
Name: Benjamin Reese
Subject: Hawk Performance Comments: Volvo S60 R
Comments:
Need part number for the brake pads that will fit a 2004 Volvo S60 R
(only the regular S60 is listed the R designation has Brembo brakes front
and Rear)

Front pad and part #

Rear pad and part #

I got mine from George at vptuning (viva performance)
In my experience, the OEM Volvo pad perform as well as the HPS in normal and light track days (rotor temp <700), and it is a real bargain when compared to any after market pads. The difference being the dust level on the wheels (OEM is pretty dusty).
Billy
