Getting yearly oil change, state inspection, tire rotation at my indie, I asked him to flush and replace the coolant. (Only 27,300 miles but she is 6.5 years old)
What coolant should be used ? the original color looks to me like gold-yellow in the reservoir tank.
I'm under the impression Zerex G-05 (HOAT) is the one (gold color). But I hear the latest volvo uses is Zerex G-48 (blue color)

There is a 'picker' table on the zerex site. It lists G-05 for 'European' and G-48 for Volvo. I would go with G-48 if you can find it, and I suspect G-05 would make a reasonable backup - I don't know how important the "phosphate free" part is for actual functional performance and/or compatibility or if that's for environmental safety or what.... hopefully someone who knows better will chime in.
