I now have the following items to add to my list of complaints:
1.) chipped paint from the door being opened against the lift. They say they will airbrush it out. I'm not sure that will be an improvement.
2.) dap of super glue on the driver's door panel - can't seam to get it off, probably ruined.
3.) radio/climate components now sit crooked in the opening. Can I adjust this, as the dealer probably would make things worse?
4.) 10 miles on the odometer for an oil change with an average fuel consumption, per the computer, of 15.8 mpg. Plus, BOTH seats were adjusted to fit other R-sses. Glad to know I provided the techs with some entertainment.
All in all, I'm feeling pretty taken advantage of, especially considering they kept the car for nearly a week. The only thing they managed to do correctly is change the oil... I hope.
WONDERFUL!!! What a way to start my weekend.
The only plus was my conversation with the sales manager who is driving a Titanium S60R with the sports package and Heico 20-inch Volution wheels. Are you just going to complain to us, who cannot do anything, or are YOU going to DO something about it?

Re: Hating my dealer right now (Helmut Ranff)

Personally, I love hearing people complain. Probably the same reason I like to watch COPs. It makes me feel better about my life.

I am sorry to hear of that. Good dealers are hard to come by, and service departments even less so. Hopefully you can find another dealer that is not too far out of the way that will treat their customers better. Only advice I have to offer is if they call for their survey, give them lower scores to reflect their work, or send a complaint to VCNA.

Re: Hating my dealer right now (RainyS60R)

I've been through this crap with several dealers, and I understand your frustration. The BMW dealer put 9 miles on my car with my last oil service, and they only had it for four hours. They also always get dirt in the car (on the light tan interior), and manage to put a few fine scratches somewhere on the paint. The only thing you can do is tell the post-service survey people about it when they call, and or complain to the dealer manager as well.

How come some people take YEARS to put a few scratches on their cars and the dealers take less than 10 miles????? People have no regard, let alone respect for other people's property. What a sad place to live, this world is.

I love to hear stories like this so I don't feel like I'm the ONLY one. Sometimes I wonder if I'm a bit OCD but then I realize it's not just that, that my dealer just doesn't car as much as I do.

Re: Hating my dealer right now (RainyS60R)

C'mon guys - I tried to end on a cheery note with regard to the 20" Heico wheels. Yes, I admit I misused the forum a bit by using it as a sounding board, but THERE IS A QUESTION buried deep within my rant.
Can the position of the radio/climate components be adjusted without great difficulty? I would prefer to do this myself rather than have the dealer make it worse than it already is. With their handywork, here is what my center stack now looks like following an inspection of the stereo head unit.

(note the nice new nicks in the plastic)

JRL, I'm relatively new here and somehow I just knew that you would be the first person to post a response.
Yes, I plan to act, but all I can do on a Friday afternoon is bitch and complain about it. Can't answer your question for you Tryg, but...
I have had great experiences with Topping Volvo in Olympia. Kinda out of the way for you I know, but hey, they have loaners.

HOLY SH*T!
I would be livid. 15.8 mpg! Umm...that does NOT sound like gently around the block to me!
All that other stuff added to this would really make me crazy. Sounds like some kids had some fun being assigned to your car.
I would be quite a pain in their ass this morning!

Tell you one thing, they hacked your dash to death, you must NOT allow this to be left this way
INSIST they buy you new dash parts and INSTALL THEM CORRECTLY.
This is really an outrage that a dealer would give this back to you this way.
If you get no results call VCNA and if necessary, sue the crap out of them, REALLY, I would
What was the problem that required them to remove the entire dash?
Sure it can be adjusted to where it should be.
From the looks of it they have to loosen everything and start over but you have a larger problem, they MAY have to replace some trim You need at least 10 more " " for this
JRL

Re: Hating my dealer right now (RainyS60R)

Looks like the stacj alignment issue can be corrected by removing the pen holder, where you will see four screws, the two rear most mount the console, and the two forward most, mount the Climate Control. I suspect if you loosen these two you can do do a better josb of alignment.
In regard to the nicks on the vinyl, that looks like the technician did not use a proper nylon trim removal tool, but no doubt just reached for a handy screwdriver.
Clearly if you want the dealer to "fix" it you do not want to make any changes, but know that it will no doubt go right back to the guy that didn't care the first time around.
