If it had the Nav prep cable it is not difficult to do, that's the entire point Volvo did this. The dealers basically can add it to the car for the cost you would have ordered it from factory with, so $1200 is about what you could expect. I think is nice Volvo mad a provision for adding it at all, and it is reasonably priced. Try adding Nav to other brands and this would seem like a bargain. In theory a portion of the cost would be offset by increased resale. I have platinum with nav, and while not the best system out there (adding a destination isn't the best) once it's set it does a very, very nice job of guiding you around. I think people are pretty critical of the Volvo system for no reason....there are some pretty big shortcomings on a lot of nav systems out there in cars in this price range.
