When I turn the wheel even slightly, either direction, it sounds like metal grinding in a low note.
I can feel it in the steering wheel.
Steering itself is unaffected, as it started before I drove up to TN and had it the entire day on Tail of the Dragon, (318 serious turns) and all the way back, and continues today.

Reservoir is topped off. Oh and by the way I did replace the leaky 2004 reservoir with a 2005 version (which also leaks at the cap .. wtf).

Maybe Dr Brutal, having just worked on steering column, might know how to diagnose this? Or anyone.

Will try to get a sound clip if needed, was hoping someone will say "oh yeh you just need to tighten the thingamajig next to the doobobby".

Check your grommet that seals between the firewall and steering column shaft?
(that can be dislodged)
Otherwise hopefully your rack isn't on the way out...

Recorded sound of grinding when turning steering column. Yes you can hear it with engine running, didn't think mic could pick it up in video.

The noise is definately the Strut support bearings.
