Grill upgrade - Will it fit?

So I was looking at my 2001 T6 and I think that it would look nice to upgrade the grille, question:

-Does the 2004-2006 grille fit my 2001?

IIRC the bumper cover grille opening's dimensions are different between '99-03 and '04-06 S80s as the bumper covers themselves are different.

So IOW no.

Another forum member first painted the original grill black which looked good, but then he decided to buy one of the newer ones and interchange the center portions so it could fit. If you want to see pictures of how he did it and looks, then go here:
