I've had my T5 for almost a year now, but i've noticed a few odd things going on.
For one, my passenger side door lock will not always lock. Many times it will lock, but then pop back up after a second. It will do this repeatedly, sometimes as many as 5 or 6 times before staying locked.
The other problem/problems have only happened a couple of times after turning off and locking the car. Once what i believe was the radiator fan was running for up to 10 min after turning the ignition off. A couple of other times i've come back to my car an hour or two later and the A/C fans are running full blast.
Has anyone else ever had either of these two problems? My guess is it is something software related.
Another thing is it idles fairly rough, especially after driving it for a few miles, but after reading a couple of posts on here I think getting the ETM software upgrade and possible cleaning out the throttle body may help that.

Re: gremlins in my T5 (alphasigmookie)

Radiator fan is p;robably running to keep the water cool, remember, even when the engine is off, the turbo is still hot, and I suspect there may be some siphon effect going on, so the sensor turns the fan on.
The A/C is easier. There is a function that can be turned on or off via software that cycles the fan to dry out the evaporator inside the car, so that mold does not form. You want this to work this way.

Re: gremlins in my T5 (wizzard_al)

Thanks! I was wondering if the fan issues were some kind of wiz bang thing that i just didn't know about. My previous car was a 94 taurus, so i'm not used to all of the features yet. I'm still a bit concerned about the locks though. i'll have to have them check it out the next time i have it in the shop.

my radiator fan stays on all the time after I turn my car off. I believe its just cooling the engine down, I think people on here had said it was normal.
Once actually surprisingly I happened to be walking by my parked car and could hear something going on, i open it and the air conditioner was on full blast. God knows how long this had been going on for.

If you find out anything about the locks, let us know. Our S60 started doing that recently.
Ours also sometimes locks the passenger seat belt in the retracted position so it can't be worn. I think it is the car's way of saying that it doesn't want passengers but my wife doesn't believe me...
