well, i added the restore, and it definitely slowed down the consumption of oil,but now i've got two other problems, a fouled out plug in the #3 cylinder,(after 5 days) and, to top it all off, i now have a "check engine" light, as of yesterday. i know there's a way to reset the ecm, so if anyone can talk me thru it, i'd appreciate it. i've already tried pullin off the + battery terminal, and letting it sit, i just hope the fouled out plug didn't kill my oxy sensor.
real quick history, this car sat up for a long while, because my pastor got screwed by two guys who shouldn't even be allowed to put together bikes at k-mart, but, he didn't know at the time, some of the stuff was done right, but, they should have addressed the possibly scored cylinder while they had the head off... still a mystery as to what was exactly done, except for what i've seen on some of the rec'ts., and what my friend could remember was done.the car runs fine, as long as that plug isn't fouled, obviously, hell, for a car pushin 280k, it runs really good,but, here again, it's practically been rebuilt, well, sort of. if anyone knows how to stop this plug-foulin problem, until i can find a used short/long block, and how, if possible, to reset the ecm, so i don't have to look at that damned light every time i look at my dash! thanks in advance, louis
