I know it isn't a big deal but every R I have seen on the road the driver was completely uninterested in the R. I gave a few dorly thumbs up and got nothing back. Yesterday I got a thumbs up from a V70 R and we both smiled and went on. Good to know there is at least on proud R owner in the Bay Area.

Re: Got my first thumbs up from a fellow R owner in almost a year (jwg)

I have yet to get a thumbs up from a R owner. The first one I got was from a motorcyle rider.

That's awesome. In the three years I had mine I've only to see one other V70R on the road.

Re: Got my first thumbs up from a fellow R owner in almost a year (PhilUp)

I saw two yesterday, a black one with a sports package. I drove up next to him, but his windows were tinted and it looked like he was busy on the phone. I waved, but he didn't look over.
Then I saw a silver R with an Evolve exhaust and lowering springs. I was two lanes over and a few cars behind so I dont think he/she could see me.
Oh, yeah there was a red evolve'd out S60R at Rusnak last week. It had the grill inserts, evolve exaust and evolve body kit. It was nice, I took pictures but I haven't downloaded them yet. Anybody here? What kind of work are you getting done?

Hey Vintage, I was in Vancouver last week for a wedding and saw a V70R in black. Yours is red so it wasn't you.
BTW, Vancouver is a beautiful city and Whistler was a ton of fun!!! Here is a picture of me bunjee jumping at Whistler Bunjee.

Just give yourself a thumbs-up in the mirror before you leave the house every morning and then you won't have to wait another year.
-Eric

Re: (phuz)

Going home last night, a black 04R pulled up behind me at an intersection. A thumbs up through my open moonroof yielded a similar response in return. I think it was the teenager in the next development who had mommy and daddy (both attorneys) buy it for him.

I got a thumbs up from a S60 T5 the other day.
Last night, I pulled up next to a black 550 with tinted windows and nice rims. Just cruised by. I needed to get off the next light so I pulled ahead some and got in front of him, and he came zipping by the far right lane. Luckily I saw him and avoided him. He was looking for a race. Maybe I should have shown him what a R can do. Next time....

I had a German expatriate follow me in his mid-eighties 944 into the parking lot of my work to tell me how much he liked my car. It was a little disconcerting, but rewarding nonetheless.

Re: (Moneypenny)

I get lots of looks (mainly at the brakes). Coming home from Orlando is fun also, because you get a lot of ricers that like to try to keep up, they always lose. There was one an Explorer who tried, but I left him very quickly and easily.
Also, once I raced a fellow R owner. Odd enough is that I won. My V70 R auto versus an S60 R Manual.

If you were rolling, the manual may have been in the wrong gear and didn't downshift quickly enough. From a stop, the "bog" may have gotten him of the RPM's were too high.
