I am making a trip to the local dyno shop today. I was planning on doing a baseline dyno in Atlanta this weekend but to make a long story short I can't go. I have done some searches but I still have questions.
1. It is a 2WD dyno so I need to pull Fuse #23 (2005) in the trunk or pull the parking brake one click?
2. 4th Gear is the best gear, correct?
Any other info/tips would be very helpful. Thanks

Re: Going to the dyno today... Got some questions. (Rangeball)

it's actually fuse 17 in the trunk [for a 2004, anyway]. you may get a DSTC Service message, but when you return the fuse, it'll go away.
2nd column, last one. it's a 7.5a fuse.

Re: (cloaked)

Not close enough to make the drive on a week day. I plan on doing the baseline tonight, then installing the Aquamist, NX kit, 3" dp, 3" exhaust, and pulley this weekend / throughout the week. Hopefully I will get to ship off my ECU to Scott soon too. I don't think I can wait for the softloader any longer. We will see on the softloader though.

Re: Going to the dyno today... Got some questions. (BOOSTED S60R)

And the results are in. The car is BONE STOCK and it was HOT!!!

Heat soak was very prevalent. I wonder if I have the hottest dyno run? 104!
I am tired, I have been helping my sister move since I got back. I will post more tomorrow.
Hot is right and the car was heat soaked. Nice torque numbers! The cars stock tune is a little lean for my taste but the new tune will richen it up some!
After we install we go back!!!

It is too bad that the conditions were not a little better. I would like to know if I have a "fluke" motor, that actually might be producing the quoted 300 hp.

Quote, originally posted by phuz »

damn...i was using Chris's 252whp as a mark. Maybe that was his other R.
Maybe if I get a chance, before I put on my down pipe and exhaust I will see if I can make it back up to the dyno with the Aquamist installed. Get a back to back comparison of the car. That will take some heavy persuasion though. I have had to look at my down pipe and exhaust every morning and evening while I enter and leave my garage.

The car with the lesser number may have a more linear powerband therfore that car would be faster than the car with the higher number. Also heat, type of dyno, and he could make 500 whp if he put in the right weight.
I love to see and hear about enthusiasts doing things such as going to the dyno but the dyno sheet deffinitely does not make the car.
Here is a freind of mine: http://www.t-emotion.com/emotion/sharif.html his dyno sheet says 900whp now and my car is faster.... his car is for show and has a crappy powerband. But that is what the car was built for.
