Twice in one year! I have too many Volvos.

I've acquired yet another Volvo, it's a Passion Red C70 M66! The previous owner unfortunately lost all coolant due to our favorite lower rad hose junction and a cracked coolant bottle. He had it towed to my dealership and was originally planning on proceeding with a replacement engine (Including clutch, all new hoses, blah blah...). The car has almost 200k, and we can not easily guarantee a head gasket on a high mileage motor for warranty purposes. In the end he ended up going a different route and settled on a Mustang convertible, it was the only option available with a 6 speed manual that suited his needs. Anyway, we came to a mutually beneficial agreement and he gave me the car to restore and give to someone who would enjoy it... a second life of sorts.

Over the next few weeks I will be tearing down the engine, assessing damage, replace all cooling system components, and proceed with a head gasket after machining the cylinder head. This will all be done during down time at work, as there is no sense of urgency as long as I get it done by the holidays! I intend to give the car to my grandmother, who has been driving my C30 T5M nonstop. She has always wanted a speedy, manual convertible, and I think this will fit the bill. I don't feel comfortable profiting off of this car, as after speaking to the previous owner, I feel it would be disrespectful to both him and the car. I know it will be well looked after in my care. I presume the clutch will be due soon, it's a little mushy - but we will cross that bridge when we get there.

This car was special ordered OSD, I believe it to be potentially 1/1 with the options and color combo, but I could be wrong, no matter the number I know this thing is quite rare.

I figured while I wait for parts I'd go ahead and detail the interior. I will do the exterior once the engine is back in good shape.

The steering wheel was black when all this started, I wish I would've taken pictures of the before.

Unfortunately I think the seats are beyond any sort of reasonable patching or repair. The PO pretty much only drove this one with the top down, which in all fairness is why he bought a convertible in the first place. I'm going to stay on the lookout for some JY seats.
