Hello,

We recently purchased an S60 T6. Car is great, however we are frequently getting zapped with electric shocks each time we hop out of the car - both sides.

Has anybody else experienced this and more importantly can anyone recommend a solution.

Thank you

I've never experienced that.

I used to get this with my former vehicle due to the cloth seats. Now with leather, no shocks...

Polyester, nylon or other synthetic clothing and shoes can store static charge easier.

I was reading a method you can try is grabbing onto the metal edge of the door frame before exiting and don't let go until your completely outside the car. This should ground any charge you build.

In my old chevy with cloth seats, i got zapped all the time in winter but not in the summer. I don't recall static discharge while in my volvo though.

Static shocks in the summer occur more often then I thought.

In my 2012 S60 T6, I get a shock around 80% of the time, when getting out of the car (from the door). I'm fully covered in cotton!
