*update* The SR was tinted. 56k welcome

Have a 0900 appointment for tint tomorrow. Hopefully he'll let me do 20% all around. If not, I'll have to go to the far away place that I know for sure will. I'll post pics when finished if anyone cares.
-Mag

Edit: Look below

from what i've heard there's a medical excuse you can get from an opthemologist that states you are able to get tinted windows if your eyes are light/sensitive to light. something to look forward to.

Well, aside from the fact that it looks much better, plus it keeps more heat out of the car here in FL...I'm about to be a cop (a water cop) and I really don't want people to see me in my personal car driving around all the time. Although I will get a take home vehicle, you never know when someone will follow you home and poison your dogs or something.

My theory is, if you have a loud exhaust, they will give you a warning about that before they notice you're excessive tint.
Worked for me back home in Sheboygan! I tried to convince him that 3" straight pipe didn't need any mufflers because there's a turbo instead. He didn't like that.
Dark tint is the way to go. ESPECIALLY if you have Nordkap interior! I've burnt my ass on some hot Kentucky summer days!

I did mine last month and I love the way it looks. I did 38% 3M, cost me a bunch ($300) but it looks fantastic. No greenish or purple tinge to it. And its guaranteed for life, no questions asked. Good luck!

It looks decent, and it's legal, but I think I would have preferred 20% on the sides. Oh well.

Re: (Husker Z)

VA is 50% on the front 35% on the rear but they rarely enforce it unless you find a d!ck.I have 20% on the R no problems.20% on the F250 no problems.Had 20% on the 850 but got a ticket so went with 35% on the front with no issues since.

IL is any on the rear and None on front, so far got one $50 ticket with 35%, IL is picky bout tints now since there is a bill to pass soon that will allow 35% on front.

I didn't want to take everything apart to do the brake light. In fact, that's illegal here too.
I really wanted the 20%, but they only carried 15% and 30%. The 15% was just too dark to do all around for me. Plus I figured if I wanted to be a d*ck and give someone a ticket for illegal tint (which I would only do if they were being obnoxious) I had better not have it on my car as well. So that's how I got to where we are today.
Oh...it only cost $100 too...with Llumar lifetime metallic tint. Schwing.

How does it work for out of area licensed vehicles? I got California tags, live in MD, wife works in D.C. so we never know what is legal.

Legally I beleive you are bound to the tint laws your wehicle is registered in.So what ever CA laws are.Doubtful MD police would spend the time to check here with the military they never bother out of state vehicles.
