How's everyone doing with their fuel economy?
I'm getting 12.7 litres per 100k, which converts to around 22mpg, and seems to be improving as I put on the miles.
Hiway/City: 15%/85%
Total mileage so far: 3300k (2050mi)
My T5 averages about 16 MPG (100% city) with my wife driving it. It could improve a little but she tests the throttle and brakes at every light. For comparison purposes, the average speed for a typical tank is only 17 MPH.
I'll be taking it on a long freeway trip later this month. I'll check it and report back.
Bruce
'01 V70 T5, DOB 3/00, 6600 miles, White/Taupe/Tint, Mobil1, FID 540 & 616

Where are you going Bruce?
I've been averaging about 22 on my tankfulls in the T5. That's with some spirited driving, and some sustained 80mph+ boogies. I did one tankfull at the speed limit, with gentle driving, and came away with 29 mpg! But that wasn't too much fun.
- Darell

Interesting. I assumed the XC would have poorer fuel economy than the T5. I guess the weight advantage of the T5 is lost with the bigger engine in terms of fuel effeciency.

On my 850 T5 I average about 20mpg. I live in the mountains though, and I tend to drive it hard. I get about 25 when its flat though.

I have some XC miles under my belt. Beleive me...driven the same way, the T5 gets way better mileage than the XC. The extra weight and poorer aerodynamics due to higher stance are to blame.
The only fuel-mileage penalty with the T5 is the ever-present temptation to use 100% of the throttle.
- Darell

Sorry Darell, Davis is not in the itinerary. I am going to cruise up ever so scenic I-5 however, but only to Coalinga to visit family.
[This message has been edited by Bruce (edited 05-01-2001).]

Ah, I'm not gonna be here anyway (not that anybody should come rob me or anything, because my attack dog will be staying behind). Thought I'd better check though.
Big drive for me too. I'll reset my computer, and see what the car is doing now mileage-wise these days.
- Darell
[This message has been edited by darell (edited 05-02-2001).]
