I started getting an intermittant Fuel Cap Loose message during the last week. I've checked the fuel cap and it's tight.
Is this someting I need to get into the dealer to check right away or is it not that critical?

If that is/was truly the only issue setting off that light, the light will go out after a certain number of turns of the ignition (I've been told 50+ turns will do it). So depending on how often you use your XC90, the light will eventually go out.
John

We have had this issue from new.
http://forums.swedespeed.com/z...72915
I had software updated to attempt to correct this ad had my dealer do diagnostic stuff on multiple occasions, only to be told that everything checks out OK, of course, every time I take it in, the light is out! After awhile we have had our check engine come on and stay on for awhile, it will eventually go out. This a real annoyance, going in for the 22,500 miles service in a few weeks, this time I am going to request they bring in a regional tech to help diagnose this. I'll post the outcome.
thanks for the info. Fuel cap message came on one day last week everytime I started the car that day. It did not reappear again until a week later and hasn't occured since. I guess as long as the check engine light doesn't come on as well then I'm ok?

To be honest, I wouldn't even worry about it much even if the check engine light came on. That indicator is an emissions-related warning, not anything you have to rush into the dealer to get checked out right away IMHO. I say this as long as the vehicle seems to be running OK.
