It finally happened, the driver seat "side lever" (used to enable entry to rear seats) no longer functions. When I lift lever, feels same as passenger seat. I also hear sound like a relay under the seat. BUT, I am unable to move/lean the upper half of the seat forward (at all) to have the whole seat begin moving forward.

Any ideas? I looked in archives, found discussion of plastic clip that breaks, then spring is no longer held, so a micro switch is not hit. Mine sounds different in that the seat upper hapf appears mechanically not to be able to be manually tipped forward, but I cound be wrong

Anyong have pics of the seat mechanicals?
Best to all,
Carl

It's an easy fix...there is a spring that will prevent a microswitch from working that ultimately broke or came off of the post.

email me for the pdf if you want to tackle this yourself. You will need to order 4 parts; but they are cheap. Took about 30 min per side to repair.

2 pieces 969278 (screw)
2 pieces 8616305 (spring)

Cheers,
Prospero

Seems the cable was the problem... I have acquired a cable, but not yet attempted to install.

Need to figure out how to get into the seat internals to replace...

The power passenger seat stopped working on my S70. I changed out the entire seat switch assembly to no avail. Is this a related fix, if so, could you please send me the info?

Thanks.

Folks,
I was off board for while, selling house so quite busy, sorry. Did you get the doc from another (original sender)? For my case, I only had to buy the cable, it is Y shaped. Then unconnect bottom of back rest leather cover at bottom, then remove metal c clips. Worked upside down with (mandatory to have these) very long needle nose pliers to remove cable ends, pull out cable, replace with new. Reclip metal clips, bottom of leather back cover, done. Was pain in the neck. Some folks at dealership recommend take seat out to do it. Beware airbag, and it might set airbag light if remove when battery installed...
