I saw a car the other day (I dont remember what) that had its front plate folded and fixed in the lower opening on its front bumper.
Is this legal in NY? Would this affect my stock IC? Has anyone done this? I think it would look good to minimize the presence of the front plate.
Any ideas you have would be appreciated!

I think you're talking about this:
http://www.swiftmotorsports.co...=2049
No, it wouldn't affect the IC. I, too, thought about getting it and installing it under the main grill. I don't know about NY, but some states require you to have a front plate, but in any case, I would just pull it down if I get pulled over for it. And I highly doubt that would happen cause I'm not driving a tricked out Integra or WRX.

while that plate mount looks like a better way to do it, the car i saw had the plate itself creased and folded so only the numbers show. It was placed in front of where the IC is on our cars and secured in place maybe with zip ties. It was more of a clunker than a ricer.

The whole plate needs to be visible so that they can see what state you are from. You can give it a try. If the cops give you a hard time you can probably just fix it and have the ticket dropped.

That motorized front plate is pretty sweet! Too bad it costs $150...Reminds me of Transporter, lol.

I am going to put my Euro plate and just have the state plate slide during road trips and unfamiliar areas.

I've been running without a front plate for 6 years on my car, lived in LA, SD, NY and never had a problem so far *knocks on wood*

I got a ticket downtown for no front plate once on Valentines Day, after it was parked by the valet. "Not their fault" Now it sits in the driver side seat pocket so I can put it on the dash if I park.

Some of these block air flow to the IC. I'd just keep it on the OEM location, over the front bumper, which doesn't block air flow to the IC or the radiator.
