I've got a 2001 XC70 110K mi. that I bought about a month ago. When I go put it in reverse I hear a click. When I talked to the local Volvo dealer, they thought it might be a metal shield that had come loose on the axles. The sound comes from both sides. Has anybody else experienced this?
The car has a limited warranty, and the place I bought it from has their own shop "Not a Volvo specialist". I don't like for anybody else to work on my vehicles but me. And I'm especially wary of someone who is not familiar with Volvo's.
What do you guy's think?

Re: Front end clicks when going into reverse (WLEACH)

Does it click going into reverse, then again when you shift to "D"?

Yes, The loudness of the click seems to vary depending on the load. "If you accelerate harder the click gets louder" I have gotten it worked out so the Volvo dealer is doing the work. So now I get to see how that goes
