Refering to a 07 S60 2.5T FWD. What is needed to upgrade to the 305mm rotors. This car has 16" wheels. It seems that many of that year models have either 305" and 286"s. Do you need calipers and brackets for them as well as the bigger rotors? Will the 16" wheels work with the upgrade?

I know that my 2002 S60 T5 has the 305mm discs I think the other size is for lower power models but don't take me on that. I would say you would need the callipers discs and mounting bracket,. I know the rear callipers are the same as the others in the T5 so the front is the different. hope that helps :)

You need the caliper brackets for the 305mm rotors and the 305mm rotors themselves. I'd measure the existing rotors if the car has 16" wheels already, it may have 305mm rotors as well.

post #31 has the part numbers for the caliper bracket. you can buy a pair from rockauto.com for under $40 w/ shipping using the A-1 Cardone part number 141607 or 14-1607.

I pulled my 305mm caliper brackets from a junkyard S60 2.5T AWD.

chef, I pulled my cryo-slots off to do an R conversion, about 15-20 on rotors that will easily do 125-150. Shoot me a PM, I'll make you a hella deal.

My 2004 S60 2.5T AWD has 305mm on stock 16" orbits. I guess it was an option because year and model pulled up 286mm rotors and I had to return them.

If you are willing to go to 17" wheels, go straight to the R Brembo setup. Couple sets for sale in SS classifieds. I added them to my 07 2.5T AWD (along with SS brake lines)... very happy I did... it does stop in a hurry now... zero fade

305mm will fit the 16" wheels of the P2 era. No bets if you want to get older 16" 850 wheels. The caliper fills the space up nicely, leaving maybe 1/4" gap btw the caliper and the wheel. Since the pads and calipers are the same as the 286, the real reason for the bigger rotors is heat absorbtion and dissipation. Police units in Europe have even bigger 320mm rotors using the same calipers/pads.
