I have my old one which I've attempted to fix using the bending pins trick but it did not work for me. I had carefully but open the case the case but left everything as is.
Rather than tossing this in the garbage, perhaps someone can use this as a core for a XeMODex rebuild. I'll take a donation of $10 to pack it and ship Priority Mail or ship to XeMODex on your behalf.
