Re: Found a 99 GLT V70 in Northern VA I'm interested in but have a few questions. (C_in_MD)
Here is the statement made by the used car dealer on the site where you found the wagon...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have been in business for over 10 years All of our cars are State Inspected and Carfax certified. Our prices on our preowned vehicle are far less than our competitor.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
this is from...
http://www.autotrader.com/deal...ist=0
But when I searched for the dealer's (Kimbles Auto Sales) carfax on here...
http://www.carfax.com/used_car...h.cfx
...the carfax did not show.
If the dealer claims to have a carfax on all his cars he should have one on this Volvo.
As to the timing belt - look on the engine for a sticker showing the mileage and date of the last timing belt change. If the car has never had a new timing belt the sticker should be blank.
The site shows 89,912 miles and you say it now has 91K - is the seller other than Kimbles?
As to inspection - the usual stuff:
Collision damage.
High wear on driver's seat and brake pedal.
Non-Volvo trailer hitch (if any).
Current inspection sticker and current registration with clear title in seller's name.
Test drive with no problems and all dash lights work, etc.
Ask for a fresh dump of all OBD codes.
Be wary of no keyless remote or non-Volvo remote.
If you pass on this one let us know as your area has some very nice V70's on the market.
