Re: Ford F250 vs. my passenger side door :-( (Copeland)

Ouch...at least the airbags didn't go off. I had a deer run into the S80 a few weeks ago. No, I didn't hit it, the deer ran into the door. Metal folded in just like that. Can definitely see the crumple zone in action.

I have the same car... but I own a Mac.
Hate to see that. By the way, I am 16... so this appears to be a popular car for the teens.

First off let me thank all of you for placing so much faith in my driving by assuming the accident was my fault....
I was pulling into a gas station, and being the nice guy I am, I let a pedestrian walk out from the store and to the pump where his car was. I stopped my car to allow this and placed it behind a PARKED F-250 who then proceeded to put his car in reverse and after a second or two realized that he was not in fact running over a speed bump but was in fact continuing to crush in my door. TEXANS AND THIER TRUCKS!
Got an estimate yesterday from the insurance..$2200.00 and it goes in the shop next Monday.

Our previous V70XC was hit 3 times by trucks backing out of parking. The trucks have terrible rear sight lines and the drivers don't bother to check blind spots. It is no surprise so many children are hit in their own driveways. Height is one (minor) reason we got the XC90 which is easier for other drivers to see.
