DRL is just one turn of a screw away. No, I do not leave them on as I used to when I had the regular bulbs. Supposedly HIDs last longer than Halogens, but I still don't feel like the risk of $400 HID kit dies on me b/c I want to run DRL.

HID's last much much longer than halogen's, but they degrade over time unlike halogens which just burn out instantly.<p>HID's do not like being turned on and off a lot, that will decrease their lifespan and light output. If you get HID's make sure you disable the DRL's, IMHO.<p>-Drew

i think it's a lot easier on the battery and the other components on the car. With HID and DRL on, the HID suck up an tremendous amount of current. This might not work well when you are trying to start the engine and other stuff (A/C). I think it's better when you can manually turn on your HID lights to give the other components a breather.

ahh thanks for all the replies...<p>now im convinced into turning off my DRLs with the halogens <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://********************/smile/emsmilep.gif" BORDER="0"> save some power for my music being pumped out hehehe<p>or well..jsut save power just to save power hehe its not like they serve much purpose to a californian <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://********************/smile/emsmilep.gif" BORDER="0"><p>
