Hi, I have a question about what is the proper behavior of fog lights when the high beam is on.

When I turn on the front fog lights on and then I flick on high beam temporarily (not locking it on), the fog lights stay on.

When I turn on the front fog lights on and then turn on the high beam (locking it on), the fog lights turn off (despite not manually turning it off).

Is this correct behavior?

Thanks!

In the US, and some other countries, it is illegal to have more than four main light sources on the front of your car (unless the other light source is for "work use only" and operated on an independent switch.

Your low beams do not turn off when you engage high beams (if you have factory xenon lights, the low beams actually get brighter while the high beams engage).
So when the high beams turn on, the fog lights must turn off.

There is a software update that you can install so the fog lights will remain on with high beams. I can't remember the exact number though.
