I just bought a used 2002 S60 with under 21k and I noticed that the driver's side headlight had been replaced with a newer model. It is much clearer and the interior divider between the main headlamp and the compartment closest to the grill does not touch the front of the glass like the original one on the passenger's side. I would like to take either one out and have them both match, whatever is cheapest. The new one looks cool, but that is why I am posting. What year could the new one be from and is the S60 assembly interchangeable with any other models? And where to find cheapest, or should I buy one from ebay, switchout and sell my extra? Thanks for your time for a newb!!

Re: First Post and it's about headlights (cougfan)

This happened with our fog lights when we bought our S80 used... one of them was very unclear, and the other was clear. I know your case is a little different, they don't match. They replaced one fog light assembly on ours at no charge... whether or not your dealer will do it I don't know, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Re: First Post and it's about headlights (cougfan)

Sorry for all these edits... After some more searching, it appears that the driver's side headlamp assembly loos very much like one from a V70 from about the same year. Would this make sense and which one is the better to keep?

cougfan - let me know what you find out. I have an 02 S60 as well and I want to put new headlights on it as well. The old ones are somewhat yellow'd. Thanks! Joe

Re: First Post and it's about headlights (JARMO)

I didn't buy from a dealer..... Well, I can find a used S60 assembly on ebay, pull out the V70 light and sell it on ebay for not too much of a hassle/cost... But you ARE saying that a V70 headlight assembly IS can be plugged in w/o modification??? HMMM..
