Here's my video review on the adapter I bought to get rid of one more wire in the car 👍

We put a C2Play Air adapter in wife’s T5 and it works great. Even her new iPhone 13 Pro Max synced right up and worked fine.

That's good to know. How do you like the iPhone 13 Pro Max? I have it on order.

It is her's, she loves it, but was coming from a XR. I am an Android person.
I just ordered the CPLAY2air - I didn't know that this existed. Thank you for posting.
I need to time ours, I don't think it takes as long as the vid posted, but either way it is running by the time the car is out of the garage. On thing we learned this weekend, if you get a new phone or need to unpair or pair another phone you need to unplug the carplay adapter first. I put double sided tape and taped the adapter right on the underside of that opening, you can't even tell it is there.

Think it would work with a right angle adapter to make it even more flush?

Not sure, but honestly you don't even notice it in her car. Keep in mid this is with flash so it looks more noticeable than it really is. Also if you use a angled USB you block the lower USB port. I leave just enough slack so I can unplug it as/if needed.

Any CarPlay disconnection issues?

I am having random disconnection. (once in 3 days) EVEN with the new genuine Apple USB lighting cable too :(
Once connected her's has not disconnected while in use. Many times when she starts the car she will get a prompt on the Infotainment asking if you want to start Carplay, hit yes and good to go. Never any drops while using and she listen to music through there at time as well.

I have the same one, carlinkit 2.0. It works well, and the only negative I've noticed is that sometimes the items are highlighted, as seen in OP's video. I also have iOS 15.
I have the CarLinkIt 3.0. Seems to work fine. I purchased a 90° USB cable from Amazon. That along with some double sided tape cleans up the install quite a bit.

I had random disconnections with Apple USB lighting cable and here is what I tried, after which connection has been stable for 15+ days (touch wood!)

May this help someone :)

I've read a bit about carlinkit (and a few other products) but from what I cant find, carlinkit is the 'parent' of carplay2air, and is generally recommended.
So I ended up buying the carlinkit wireless adapter. You can get it for roughly $99. You plug it in and set it up using bluetooth. There is a 1/2 second lag that I am ok with as I am not clicking between buttons at the speed of light anyway. A screen pops up when it turns on and searches for a phone. Once you pair it it will then automatically connect to it. My wife sometimes uses my 2021 XC40 and at times i get in my car with her and it connects to her phone. At the screen you can actually choose between phones to connect to but im used to letting it connect me automatically. Takes maybe 20 seconds but at that point im settling into the car and backing out anyway and let it do its thing. Is it perfect? No. Do I prefer this over connecting it, **** yes.
There is aawireless on indiegogo, works great. There's a couple of threads on here mentioning it. Long wait time is only draw back I've heard people mention
Also for Android, Motorola has just release a dongle. It's called the Motorola MA1.
I decided to pull the trigger on this. It took 2 full weeks to arrive but the company was very responsive to emailed inquiries.

it connected easily on the first attempt and works flawlessly.

I recommend this to anyone that does not want to mess with cables anymore
