WOW should have done this years ago, what a difference. Used these guys, no soldering resistors on, etc. And nice heatsinks on the 8led ones. Few other threads going on, with other ideas also.

In some spots they will not go completely off - but that can be rectified by soldering a resistor across the back of the LED (from contact to contact)
I think I used 1 watt 100 ohm resistor -
Also for lights that have two light that illuminate at the same time you only have to do one of the (pair) of LEDs/bulbs.

No if you notice on the links I sent these have resistor built in. No issues with staying on. Few more bucks but really, its a cheap mod anyway. I cant be bothered driving to radio shack etc and playing around, plug these in and done.

How many of each does one need for a single car?
Is there any list of how many of each size go where?


I have a 2001 v70 if that matters.
The owners manual says:

Door Step Lights 5Watt SV8.5
Cargo Area 5 Watt SV8.5
Vanity Mirror 5 Watt W 2.1x9.5d
Instruments 5 Watt W 2.1x9.5d

But about the map and front overhead lights and the rear reading lights, it says that "it may be difficult" to replace these, and refuses to tell me how many bulbs, or of what type.
