Well, here it is, my Photoshop version what a Volvo XC90R could look like. I am not a Photoshop expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I tried.
Just think, the 2.8 liter Bi-Turbo I6 engine with upgrades and a chip producing around 340hp or even a more powerful V8 engine. Of course, it has 19-inch rims too.

-Drew

I've heard from factory people that that motor might be capable of 400hp if properly tuned and upgraded. Take that X5M!
BTW, nice pic Drew. It looks cool. If you want to submit additional fictional Volvos to our Fictional Volvo gallery, or anyone else does, please feel free to email them in. You can find more info and ideas in our Fictional Volvo Gallery found in the Resources section of this site.
[This message has been edited by [email protected] (edited 12-03-2001).]

Hey, that's great! Now, 400hp would be cool too. The only question there is could you keep it on the road. It'd be cool if they put an adjustable suspension on a car like that (like the one on the Audi Allroad so that you could lower it).

What is the web address for the pictures? I found the post of low and high res of three of them but not the fourth. I would like to play around with them to make a R.

Colin,
There isn't a web address for the picture that I used, since Swedespeed got that one exclusively. You can grab it from the gallery section though, like I did.
Here:
Swedespeed XC90 Image
-Drew
Yeah, I too think if you can use some lighter color, the car would look even better. Maybe different background scheme? I like those 'studio shot' background the pics of the new blue V70R.
I'm spoiled now....do you think you can add the alum. trim like the Ocean Race model? I think it'll be even better with the same trim for the roof rail as well..you know, the Audi A6 Avant style? Alright to top this off, try the Ocean Race blue..hehehe..I think I've asked for too much.
He could probably make that trim silver, though the tough part is that the car has so much black on it. Playing with photoshop, it'd take a long time to paint that thing a lighter color. Coming back from black is the toughest.
If you look at the below picture as an example....

I built it from this.

Even though it doesn't look all that different, it took forever to build the front end of this car (painting it per se) and the roof as well. Getting it to look smooth is a real bear.
[This message has been edited by [email protected] (edited 12-03-2001).]

I'll admit, it took about 2 days of on/off work to create the picture above. It took about 1,300 commands in PSP to create that image, because I used the 'Magic Wand' tool instead of the usual cut out and recolor method. I think it kinda looks cool in the darker color personally. It would probably take a week for me to change it to a lighter color though unfortunatly.
But, I did come up with this one pretty quickly. I am sure that Colin and some other Computer Artists could come up with something nicer.

Just changing the wheels to 18's or 19's even makes a big difference IMHO.

-Drew
[This message has been edited by InDy (edited 12-04-2001).]

Yes, the last one is the original one, but I changed the wheel size to like 19's.
-Drew

It is more like Colin doodles on the computer beacuse he is really board and wants to go home but is stuck at school until the end of the week when he has his last final.
