It would probably better to post in the R forum, where they would be much more knowledgeable on the topic.
on a side note, i would always consider a manual over an automatic just because it's much less complex, nothing as big waiting to break like in a automatic. I'm pretty sure earlier S60R's have a torque limiter in first and second gears.
