Jim, thanks for the clarification. Since mine is '98, the colour should match fine.
Yerrow, do you have the amplifier which I think is key for the sc901 to function. Or does the sc813 have an amplifier back there somewhere which works OK?
Regards,
I'm also intersted. Price? My SC-900 is dying and I need an upgrade and Sc-901 would be nice IF it is in working condition...ie. 3 CD changer works, all 3 modes of sound for dolby work and it has the 6CD button that works.
How was the install? did you swap out an SC-900 for the SC-901? That's what I'll be doing soon. Can you notice a big sound quality difference? I'm not planning on changing any amps/speakers..simply swapping out the units.
My opinion after 5 years of daily use and appreciation of the SC900 is I wanted the SC901's ProLogic capability on the FM section. I like it. The faster CD changer operation is a very noticeable improvement too.
I had no reliability issues with the SC900. sounds like I was lucky.
Taking the SC900 out triggered two surprises.. I found cables plugged into the subwoofer out and CD6 out port. The CD6 changer I don't have and wondered where the other end of this cable is (maybe up behind the glove box?). Theres no subwoofer that I know of, so does this cable just go to the amp and get fed to the door speakers.. too bad AUDIOGUY isn't around anymore. JRL, can you help with these ??'s
Jeff
