Correct they are not amzing like the Pixel lights, there are some videos of the Pixel lights on Youtube (AHB3 setting in OrBit;-)) and they are impressive! There are something like 43 elements of lighting per headlight in those. I got a Polestar 2 tester who enabled these.

In that swedish thread the operation is explained, it's meant specifically for aux headlights. When the auxiliary light is "on" via the virtual button in Sensus, the aux light output from the CEM is grounded only when the high beams are engaged. I have the adaptive beams enabled on my car...they don't talk about that I wonder what the operation is along with those.

I do have additional reverse lights, little LED floods, to improve the rear camera view at night, they are simply wired to the reverse light circuit so they activate in reverse.

I must admit I only read the last page that details how to connect to the CEM. I'll read it all later.

Fascinating info about the lights. I'm really looking forward to connecting to Orbit again ☺

If the tech is present in all led lights, bendy and non bendy, then is the difference between bendy and non bendy just a software toggle?

Honesty I didn’t know you could get non-ABL in SPA Volvos.

Back to the extra lighting. The thread talks about the CEM and programming for the button

Anyone knows of a factory installed light setup that you don't have to hack the bumper, feed the power/relay etc?

No such luck ;-) The headlight units are different. The HCMs (headlight control modules) and the software are the same though, so one could swap the lights and enable the bendy function with OrBit. Something I would do some day if/when a decent priced used pair of the "revised for IIHS test" bendy LED lights pops up.

So I just connected the car to Orbit for 5 minutes and now I have the auxiliary lights button in Sensus 😁😁😁

After reading the Swedish link that Power6 shared it seems the connection of the relay to the CEM is reasonably straightforward. I'm looking forward to that project.

Now just to decide between twin spots behind the grille or a number plate mounted light bar.

I picked up a pair of the lights @Power6 recommended for extra light when reversing. It would be nice to have a button as I did this in my VW for the same purpose. While adding the on screen light button is nice, the instant feedback/satisfaction of pushing a button is great. Curious if anyone would go through the trouble of using the Extra Light button to turn on a rear light? If so, please share your progress.

It seems that the auxiliary light button that appears on sensus will only arm the lights to come on when the car's full beams are on. Probably a nuisance to have to reverse with full beams on.
Fir those with Cornering Lights / Front Fogs; they illuminate at the front when reversing (definitely when camera is installed) to aid visibility.
it’s a shame that there isn’t functionality like on my BMW that when you shift into reverse all the door lights go on to illuminate the sides!

They look neat. I'd like to see a picture of them in place. I would like this solution to be integrated neatly. My first idea was to mount extra reverse lights underneath the rear bumper so they would be unseen.
Here's a shot of the install in my GTI. I'll share a pic of where/how I may mount those lights on the V60 soon.

The extra light when getting in/out of a parking lot or in low lit country areas, the extra light from the bar is awesome. Unless you leave it on accidentally and blind the people behind you.
