Since I own my V90 CC, I see lots of cars all over the web with extra lights attached on the bumper and I really love their look! I'd love to add a rack and additional lighting to my car, and I'm researching to find a suitable rack.

I've found a supplier in Sweden, (https://qpax.se/en/), but they refuses to sell in North America, and they don't send package here in Canada and USA as well. In addition, I found the bars they sell pretty simple and well designed, but I can't find something equivalent to put 2 or 3 extra lights, and the prices are still quite high.

Do you have other contacts or other suppliers who offer a similar product and which would be accessible to us, in Canada and the USA?

I would take these photos to a skilled fabricator that works on custom cars. You buy lights first.......have them build the light bar to accommodate light mounting points. Actually the relays, wiring and some kind of tidy looking switch is the part that could be daunting. I like it though. I wouldn't mind a wicked bright light on some dark woods roads I drive down. It gets dark here as early as 4pm in the fall/winter

In Sweden and Norway, people add more light for dealing with wildlife along country roads. I would recommend on getting some lights from UK, Lazerlamps. Which are smaller and not blocking airflow.

I'm located in Canada, and we deal with wildlife too, winter darkness, and very bad roads.

European outfitters can also enable an extra soft switch to appear in the Sensus screen to control the added lighting. This would have to be done via VIDA and with the proper canbus wiring, and sounds cleaner than a physical switch somewhere in the dash, but depends how many lightbars you're adding and if they need to be controlled separately from one another.

Otherwise, any generic license plate mounted bracket can be used, or mount them behind the grille if you'd be ok blocking some light. A LED light bar can be mounted into the lower bumper grille too, instead of the big 7" rounds. Run a relay harness switch into the passenger compartment, and mount a switch anywhere, in the cubby by the knee panel, center tunnel slider cover, etc.

Wait, what? There is an option to have lights controlled from Sensus?

Any image/video of that?

The swedish forums mention this Sensus option being enabled when a Volvo dealer does the full light kit installation, as I understand there is a vehicle code attributed to Police service fleet that enables this soft button, and it's Volvo's discretion to enable it. "Please just enable this code for me", is a no go, they'll demand to be the ones doing the full installation.

The other canbus integration modules offered make the extra lighting work along the stock high beams, with smarts during Active high beam use:
-extra lighting only on when full high beams are also on; stalk selection or auto high beam mode
-auto high beam extinguishes the extra lighting as well
-any active high beam shaping disables the extra lighting, leaving only the stock ones working during that time. Only restores the extra lighting when the full high beams are back on again.

Nothing wrong with wiring up a typical relay harness and physical switch, just remember when they're on or expect to be flashed back.

Is that when you help your grandmother after a fart?

But seriously, I love stuff like this, now I want it added to mine, not sure what I'd trigger with it, but I want it!

I have seen some pretty impressive European installed driving lights directly behind the grill of a V90 XC.

I really like the behind the grille approach. I worry about blocking the rad though. The straight light bars are nice as well. I would have to say adding wiring is the way to go, don’t deal with Sensus, coding blah blah. I ordered a light bar for my Sprinter van through Amazon. It came with an impressively made harness and a key fob remote to turn the relay off and on. I mounted that in an out of the way place on my dash with Velcro. When it is energized it displays a red LED on the switch itself. I think the light bar install would be easier, you can get them yellow or white OR both! Read reviews, there are some made in USA as well that the Jeep, off road crowd uses.

I have an idea, what if you got round lights that mounted with a stud off the rear of light housing. And then cut two five or six inch or whatever circles in the grille and have them semi recessed. Of course it would be a permanent mid but it would be striking!

Not in the markets where these setups are used. Maybe in the desert, if that.
There's even the option to spec active shutters behind the grille, flaps that regulate how much free air makes it to the rad, option didn't make it to north america though.
