What would be a reasonable price for an extended warranty through a Volvo dealer for a zero deductible policy or a 100$ deductible? I currently have 48000 miles on my vehicle and would like to keep it for at least 2 more years. I assume the standard policy covers up to 84mo./100,000 miles?

Re: Extended Warranty (tereir)

i was passing by and thought i still had enough energy to post on this.
i just got an extended warranty for my 06 v70 2.5t at 4k miles, it is considered a class 4 car because of the turbo.
an xc90 fwd, all notes are for the 84mo/100k warranty, 100 deductable, quotes was;2637.
xc90 turbo awd, class 5 was 2925
xc90 v8 was class 6 at 3680.
my car was class 4 and was quoted 2722. i got it for 2122, a 22% discount. i actually consider this as part of the cost of the car and mainly as prepaid maintenance. i have never used the full value of an extended warranty because i buy reliable cars and maintain them VERY well, it is one of my hobbies (working on cars).
also the folks here are very good at helping. special note are to listen to jrl, grecianvolvo, and the guys in the r forum. these are car guys, and many are in the bus and some for many years.
ps; the auto tranny fluid is mobil 3309, is not synthetic, but it is with special friction modifiers. check my history, i made the first fyi post on it 2 years ago. it was followed heatedly . all in all the best car advice comes from jrl and yannis(grecianvolvo) when it comes to volvo's.
edit; you can shop around for deals, i just have a great dealership that offered me the discounted deal up front. so i wrote the check right then. also, with your higher mileage you may have to pay for an assessment of the car before they will write it up.
redbank volvo in new jersey offered great deals on the volvo vip warranty, the one i got and reccomend. also check with your dealer and suggest you are active in the swedespeed community or something like that so they understand you do your homework and have friends, connections etc. at least that you are aware of your situation. best of luck, your car is a good one.

Modified by hastee at 8:51 PM 8-22-2006edited again, i can not spell!
