Hi Guys,
Volvo wrote off my original 08 XC70 as a lemon. I picked up my new 09 XC70 a couple of weeks ago but only signed the paperwork on it yesterday.
While I was signing the paperwork they offered me the Premium Plus Extended Service Plan/Warranty at cost price (which they told me was $2334) due to all the issues I had with my previous car. Its still a chunk of change... but would cover anything going wrong with the car for 7 yrs or 100,00 miles. Oh and its zero deductible so it looks as though I wouldn't pay anything out of my pocket other than the initial cost. I tend to buy a new car and keep it for about 7-10 years.
Based on the above info do you guys think its worth buying the additional coverage? Have they quoted a "fair" price, and has anyone had any prior experiences with a Volvo extended warranty plan?
As always all help/info is appreciated!
Thanks!

I asked the exact same question when buying ours 6 months ago, and didn't end up getting it:
http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=106582

Re: Extended Warranty 09 XC70 (uberchick)

I bought it back in 1995 with my first Volvo (850). The cost was around $1,500 and even if it worked well, I did not have enough problems with the car to pay for the warranty. (I can't complain)
I did not get it the second time in 2000 with my V70XC and, again, it would not have paid itself.
Based on my own experience, it would not have worth it. Everyone experience is different and the newer cars have a lot more gadgets and expensive electronics that would have to be fixed by the dealer. When I bough my 2009 XC70, the cost of the extended warranty was a little over $4,000. I did not take it.
